DEMENTIA

Hearing loss links to dementia.

In 2011, leading hearing loss researcher Frank Lin MD/PHD and his team released ground breaking study results showing how hearing loss and dementia are linked.

In fact, Dr. Lin’s study states that are a few reasons for this link:

First, people with hearing loss used too much energy focusing on hearing rather than on other brain functions, such as memory.

Second, people with hearing loss were more isolated socially and stimulated less.

Lastly, people with hearing loss engage in less leisure activities, something that increases the risk of dementia.

Accordingly, are you treating your hearing loss to prevent dementia?
